If you answered YES to any of these questions ..... You should become a NITROX DIVER!
Introduction to Nitrox - Trailer

DiveNav's Introduction to Nitrox online class is packed with interactive videos that show you everything you need to know about Nitrox and prepares you for a formal Nitrox course.
The class provides some historical facts on Nitrox and covers the physical and physiological aspects of diving Nitrox.
Module 5 covers the important LIMITS of Nitrox, the use of Nitrox tables and how to calculate Oxygen Exposure limits.
Then the class presents how Nitrox is produced, covers equipment requirements and shows how to analyze the content of a Nitrox tank. Lastly, the class takes you for virtual Nitrox dives using several dive computers.
The class includes both quizzes and a final test to test your knowledge retention as you progress.

So, what are you waiting for? Complete the Introduction to Nitrox online class, visit your dive store, ace their agency provided Nitrox course, get a Nitrox certification card and then .....

Fine Tuning a Decompression Algorithm
Part 3
As you might remember, in our October newsletter we had an article addressing the decompression algorithm we are using in our eDiving and divePAL simulators. More specifically, in that article we described how we entered into divePAL the "de-facto industry standard dive test profiles" published in ScubaLab article: Digging Deep on 2009's New Dive Computers.

Then in our November newsletter we presented the results of our original implementation. We explained that we were not surprised to find out that our own implementation of the Buhlmann ZH-L16C algorithm was the most aggressive of the group.

In the past month, not only we continued with our fine tuning, but we also added to our simulators the possibility to select three different levels of conservatism: LIBERAL, MIDDLE of the ROAD and CONSERVATIVE.

Here how the three options compare to other algorithms when tested using the de-facto industry standard dive test profiles.

Scuba Diving the Mariana Trench?
Would you like to visit the depths of the Pacific Ocean?

As mentioned in our forum, it is impossible to dive - even virtually - the Mariana Trench as the area is extremely large and deep.

So, we shrunk it for you: we scaled the terrain 250:1 horizontally and 100:3 vertically.
Then to make it even more manageable we moved up the terrain by 30 meters.

Who is going to set the new "deepest (virtual) dive" record ?
